Diana Lynn Petro-Kilpatrick, 56, of Indianapolis, Indiana was called by Our Lord on February 13, 2014. She was born on April 12, 1957 to Richard (Dick) Petro and Helen LeMaster. She was adopted by James and Elizabeth McGinnis at an early age, until reunited with her biological parents as a teenager. She had a close relationship with her step-parents, Harrison (Lee) LeMaster (spouse of Helen), and Darlene Burton-Petro (wife of Richard). Diana has 3 children : James, Jacquelyn, and Krystal. She was a proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren. Diana was blessed with many siblings, brothers : Rick, Jerry, Gene, and Carl, sisters: Margaret (Maggie), Nancy, Sue, Diana Kay, and Mary.
Diana loved her family. She was proud to be a Petro. Like many of us she had her inner struggles and sometimes those struggles overcome us. Diana believed in God and Our Lord Jesus Christ. We love and miss her dearly, and have faith that she is now reunited with our family in Heaven.
Diana was cremated on February 18, 2014, as she wanted, and she will be buried on her birthday at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County, Indiana, with her father, grandparents, and many other Petro family members.

I know you were never able to recover from the rejection and abuse you suffered as a child. You never were able to find your place in this life. Still, you were able to smile, and to care, and to love. Mom and I were going through your things upon your passing and we found your Bible on the nightstand and the pages of notes you made. God knows all, and He is a loving, compassionate God. I know you are now at peace and reunited with our family who have passed before you. I want you to know I have many wonderful memories of you, and although I many not have adequately expressed it, I love you very much and I will miss you. See you soon.

Mom, I will always love you no matter what has happened between us… There is so much that has been left unsaid in our relationship. I wish I had just one more hour to let you know that it wasn’t all your fault and to let you know how much we loved you but not the lifestyle that had consumed you. I will always love you and may God take you in his arms and assure you the pain is finally over. Rest in Peace now Mom and always know I have loved you with all my heart.

I miss you D. It’s been three long months and I’m still lost without you. I’ve not been there for your mom or your daughters like I should be, like I will be as I’m able. I know you are in a much better place and free from your earthly struggles, you were the best friend I ever had and I just wish we had had more time. I miss you sis and will always hold you dear in my heart.
